A sanctuary in the hills of Ubud, Amala Villas Ubud is an intimate resort that prides itself on being a home away from home. Located on 3,000 square meters of land above the villages of Sebali and Keliki, it overlooks the Wos River on the edge of a ridge surrounded by rice fields. It combines traditional Balinese architecture with the simplicity and clean lines of modern design. Amala Villas Ubud consists of three houses connected by a walkway. It comfortably accommodates up to 14 adults and has enough common areas to ensure adequate privacy – ideal for families of friends or up to seven couples.

The villa offers a pleasant blend of authentic Balinese interior elements with all modern amenities for comfortable living. The open-air and open-plan living areas allow you to take in the outdoor environment. A selection of plush sofas are there for you to relax in and converse with friends and family, on one side a large white dining table accommodates up to 10 guests.
Five modern en-suite bedrooms offer guests a spacious retreat to rest each evening, beautiful wooden four-poster beds are shrouded in a sheer white netting, matching bed scarves and pillows offset the pristine white linens. The en-suite bathrooms are made of natural stone and polished cement surfaces, while beautiful works of art adorn the walls.
With beautiful views of quaint paddy fields, the Main House has an open living area with a large daybed overlooking a 20-metre pool, as well as a kitchen, library and powder room. The Valley House has an open billiards area on the top floor with an immense alang-alang roof and wide verandas for al fresco dining. There is a media room with a large television to screen movies or satellite programming and a karaoke system for those who like to sing. This room can also be converted into another en suite guest room and shares a veranda with Jarak. Newly constructed at the last quarter of 2017, the North House has an open dining pavilion, which can be closed up for a more private setting, and a floating deck that overlooks the lush valley.
Bodhi, the master bedroom on the second floor opens onto a spacious balcony with daybeds on either side, and a veranda that overlooks the pool and rice fields. The luxurious spacious bathroom has a bathtub with a shower and an outdoor shower on the terrace. Below are two guest rooms, Wani and Arbesia, connected by a single veranda overlooking the tranquil Wos River; both have private bathrooms with shower and tub. On the first floor is Jarak, a second large bedroom with an indoor bath and shower overlooking the lush tropical valley, as well as an outdoor shower in its own private garden. On the second floor of the North House is a luxuriously designed third master bedroom, Kendal, with a balcony that overlooks the Wos River and offers soothing views of the valley and rice fields towards the north. The en suite bathroom is slightly smaller compared to the other bathrooms, but has the best facilities.
The garden is bursting with greenery all around, a stone pathway leads from the entrance of the villa past the huge natural stone infinity pool, at one side an elevated sun baking platform has a comfortable mattress and pillows to soak up the sun. Soaring coconut palms are perfectly positioned throughout the garden and on each side; the views are of lush green rice terraces. Around the garden, ancient statues add to the mystical charm of your surroundings.Guests can stroll around the garden, have breakfast with the sun rising over the valley or take in the beauty of the rice terraces from a bale that sits at the edge of the garden.
Surrounding areas also include restaurants, cafes, galleries, boutiques, spas and cultural performances in Ubud.
The villa is looked after by a team of warm and friendly staff from the local area with plenty of experience and training guests are sure to be well taken care of. The villa manager oversees all the staff: two cooks – spoiling you with delicious meals-, two butlers -who will make sure everything is perfect during your stay-, two housekeeping -keeping the villa spotless-, and two security guards -keeping you safe at night-. Guests will also get to enjoy free airport transfers.
A car with driver are offered complimentary for eight hours a day, making it easy to explore the island of a 1000 temples.
The villa is located in between two traditional Balinese villages surrounding by nothing but untouched nature and the islands natural habitat of endless emerald rice terraces. You will get a true sense of the real rural Bali-life while the center of Ubud is just a short drive away. You will certainly love a trekking through the rice fields and rafting on the gorgeous Ayung river. Ubud is the finest in Balinese arts and culture. You can attend workshops by local artists, find bliss at the renowned Yoga Barn, stroll through the Monkey forest and eat delicious raw food at the health restaurants and cafe’s.
Exploring the local area on foot will be a relaxing experience, take a stroll and experience Balinese life as the locals go about their daily routine. Some of the local tourist attractions include the Hanging Gardens, with its piano lounge bar ( great for an afternoon cocktail) and the River Café.
Ubud is renowned for art and culture so you should check out the cultural diversity on display at the museums and art galleries spotted around the hills of Ubud. You may also like to try a bit of yoga here as there are many yoga studios nearby. Our favorite is the super popular Yaga Barn. There are plenty of eating options to enjoy including Warung Oka, Naughty Nuri’s (for amazing ribs), Cascades and the traditional markets are well worth a visit where you can buy some beautiful handicrafts & souvenirs.
If you’re coming with kids you can take them to the Monkey Forest Temple for the day or do the Campuhan Ridge Walk where you can see sensational rice field views.
For the ladies, there are loads of day spas in Ubud where you can have a pampering massage or get your hair and nails done. Your villa manager will arrange transport ( you get a free car and driver for the day) for all of these fun activities.
The villa is located only 15 minutes drive away from the famous Campuhan Ridge Walk and Tegallalang Rice Terrace.
